What is the date that you officially report?
Taylor: "I left [January 4] and then I'm just going from there getting set up. I start classes Monday, January 9.
What's going through your head right now?
Taylor: "Some mixed emotions. Leaving home, where I've been my whole life, but I'm excited for the new start and this new journey for me."
Your brother, Kerry Taylor, was recently hired by Oregon State as an assistant wide receivers coach. How did that whole process go down from your point of view?
Taylor: "The day coach Brennan got the San Jose State job was the day coach McGiven and coach Andersen were coming for my in-home visit. They come over, and we talked about things. They mentioned to him that there might be a position open if he was interested. They talked a little football, and then a couple of weeks later, they offered him the position, and he took it."
What did you think about that? Were you pretty excited about it?
Taylor: "Yeah it's pretty cool; I'm glad for him. He's trying to set his own path and this is a good opportunity for him. We'll be up there together, but him being my brother doesn't mean anything for me about trying to play early or anything like that. I still have to go up there and do my own work."
Is there any kind of sibling rivalry between you two? Anything like that?
Taylor: "He's been with me my whole career. He's taught me a lot of stuff. He played receiver, so he's always coached me since I started playing receiver. He knows his stuff, so I'm looking forward to it. We get along really well, so we won't have any issues with that."
Have you been in touch with any of the other recruits that are coming up early as well?
Taylor: "A little bit. I talk to Isaiah Hodgins the most, because we're actually going to room together in the dorm. We've talked quite a bit, getting things situated and set up. He actually used to live in Arizona, in the Chandler area when he was younger. So we know a lot of the same people. I'm looking forward to meeting him."
How are you feeling about this incoming class for Oregon State?
Taylor: "It's looking really good. They have a lot of different pieces. We're bringing in a lot of receivers, and everyone will have their different roles. We'll get the offense rolling and get some wins in the record book."
How is your health with the leg injury you suffered during the summer? How is everything progressing?
Taylor: "I'm doing wonderful. I got cleared two weeks ago. I'm all back to full speed and everything. I'm just working on strength and slowly doing some cutting. I'm going to see if I can do contact or not during spring football. I'll figure that out when I talk to the doctors at OSU. Everything is pretty good."
What's your message to Oregon State fans?
Taylor: "I just want to bring some wins and Pac-12 Championships. I want to bring the winning and excitement back to the program."
