TYLER, Texas – Oregon State offensive lineman Van Wells has been selected to the watch list for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, which was released Wednesday.

Candidates for the honor must come from the offensive side of the ball and either play football at a Texas university or have graduated from a Texas high school. Candidates will be recognized for their integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity.

Wells, from Houston, Texas, came to Corvallis after two seasons at Colorado. He played in 20 games for the Buffaloes, making 11 starts, and saw action in more than 1,000 snaps during his tenure in Boulder. He was graded out at 80.7 in pass blocking as a sophomore per PFF.

It’s his second preseason honor of the year, following a selection to the Rimington Trophy watch list in early August.

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award preseason watch list, which stands at 93 players, will be narrowed to 16 semifinalists in November, and then five finalists in December. The banquet for the 2025 winner will be held Jan. 22 in Tyler, Texas.
