Trent Bray (Current OSU HC)
Who is he? - Oregon State's current head coach... Bray served as DC for Oregon State from the end of the 2021 campaign through the 2023 campaign before he was tapped to be the head coach. Bray has also served as a linebacker coach at Nebraska, Arizona State, and California Redwoods.
Why him? If Bray wants to take the full reins of the defense, this wouldn't be an unpreceded move as we've seen defensive-minded head coaches continue to call defensive plays along with offensive-minded head coaches calling their offensive plays. So in that sense, it would make some sense if Bray decided he wanted to have a bigger hand in the defense in 2025... I don't think this is the most likely scenario, as I likely see Bray naming a DC and then still electing to call plays, it wouldn't be out of the question...
