"First, I would like to thank the University of Oregon State for giving me the opportunity to play for them," Hook said in a statement. "I can't thank the coaching staff enough for believing in me from the very beginning of the recruitment process. The town of Corvallis is a special place like no other but with all that being said, I am going to step away from my commitment and open my recruitment back up."
Hook is the eighth prospect to de-commit from Oregon State this cycle and the sixth since Jonathan Smith left Corvallis to take the head coaching job at Michigan State. Also decommititng from the Beavers so far includes Logan Saldate, David Abajian, Andrew Brinson, Makhi Frazier, Payton Stewart, Kekai Burnett, and Rustin Young.
