Among Oregon State's visitors this weekend is Florida Atlantic safety Elijah Cannon. The three-star prospect out of Coconut Creek, Florida picked up an offer from the Beavers last month.

Here's what you need to know about Cannon and his recruitment.

The Florida Atlantic commitment made his college decision in June after receiving offers from Akron, Bowling Green, Lousiana-Monroe, Temple, Middle Tennessee State, Ohio, FAU, and Georgia State.

After following his development for some time, the Beavers decided to pull the trigger and offer Cannon in late October. The two sides continued to have strong conversations leading to Cannon scheduling an official visit for this weekend.

1) What about Oregon State has stood out to you so far in your recruitment?

What has stood out to me so far is how much effort they have put forth into recruiting me and making me feel like a priority.

2) How have the conversations been between you and the Beavers? Who have you been spending the most time talking to?

The conversations have been going great everytime I speak to anyone its a great conversation, I have talked to Coach Armond, Jmo, DOC, Coach Moore, Coach Perkins the most though.

3) What are you most excited to see or learn more about on your OV?

Im most excited to see the culture and environment i could possibly be spending 4 years around and learn more about the school and their plans for me.

4) Does Oregon State's uncertain future conference-wise play any factor for you? Have they discussed that with you at all?

Yes I believe not only me but everyone should like to be surrounded with the best competition possible and Oregon State is a great school whatever conference they do go to they will definitely dominate, we havent discussed it as a now though.

No, there are no other visits scheduled, My decision will be after the season

Oregon State's chances

We feel good about Oregon State and their chances to complete the flip of Cannon this weekend. The Beavers have had sustained success in recruiting The Sunshine State over the last several cycles including this cycle with landing future Beaver DB Andrew Brinson. The Beavers have put together a quality secondary class already with Brinson and Exodus Ayers both looking like strong picks up for Jonathan Smith's program. Adding Cannon to the 2024 recruiting class would be a solid late addition for the Beavers as well.
