New Signee: Craig Evans

Yuma (Ariz.) Arizona Western C.C. and former Michigan State defensive tackle Craig Evans has inked with Oregon State, giving the Beavs a big, big time recruit. Evans had been leaning towards OSU ever since he officially visited back in September for the Boise State game, but the 6-foot-4, 310-pounder wanted to weigh all of his options before making a decision.

Evans is a plug and play run stopper that can help the Beavers right away in Kevin Clune's 3-4 defense.

"Me and coach [Gary] Andersen have this relationship where he's not going to do the extraordinary to try to get me there," Evans told BeaversEdge.com two weeks ago. "He trusts that I'm going to make the best decision for me, and I gave him my word basically saying that if anything is to change, I'll let him know ahead of time."

Beaver fans have been on edge for months - waiting for Evans to commit to Oregon State, but now Beaver Nation can rest easy knowing that Evans is officially a Beaver.
