Lake Oswego (Ore.) quarterback Jake Dukart has had a very interesting week.

His week started by visiting Oregon State on Sunday and received an offer from the Beavers, but he didn't announce that news until Wednesday. Dukart was committed to Arizona State on a baseball scholarship, but after deciding to go the football route, Dukart decommitted from ASU and announced his offer from OSU.

"It's been a little bit of a roller coaster; it's been all over the place," Dukart said of his week. "Arizona State was a pretty special place to me, and letting go of that was pretty tough. I fell in love with football, and I'm trying to pursue that. I think it's the best option for me.

"Picking up the Oregon State offer was kind of the kick start to everything. It's a great start.

"I didn't post anything until after I got everything settled with ASU out of respect for them. They offered me during my visit. It was a great feeling, honestly. Coach Andersen is a great guy. It feels pretty good to get your first offer, and I'm excited to keep the recrutiing process going and keep working."

Dukart admits that he didn't exactly see the OSU offer coming so soon.

"It was surprising for sure. I expect a lot out of myself, so I wouldn't say I wouldn't expect something like that, but it was definitely exciting to hear those words come out of [Andersen's] mouth. It was overall a great feeling for me."
