Haywayd (Calif.) Stellar Prep cornerback Deshon Wilson announced his commitment to Oregon State on Wednesday afternoon.

The Beavers are Wilson's dream school, and when you couple that with the fact that he has four friends who signed with OSU's 2017 class, it made the Beavs an obvious favorite to land his commitment.

"Oregon State has always been my dream school," Wilson said. "My cousin went there [academic scholarship], and he told me that it's a great school for academics and football. I always wanted to go to Oregon State.

Those four friends are Aidan Willard, Isaiah Hodgins, Isaiah Dunn, and Trajon Cotton. Wilson played with them last spring on the TMP Mafia 7v7 team - based in Northern California.

Wilson is hoping to visit Oregon State on Saturday for the Beavs' spring game with some of his buddies to check out campus, but he informed us that he is taking his SAT on Saturday morning.

Wilson is a 6-foot-1, 180-pound cornerback that is rated as a three-star prospect according to Rivals.com. He is the No. 52 cornerback in the country and the No. 68 overall player in the state of California.

Rivals.com Analyst Adam Gorney on Wilson

"Wilson is a talented cornerback prospect who looks the best on film coming up and making tackles and reading plays, trusting his eyes, and attacking the ball. He's also at the line of scrimmage and then contesting the deep ball by forcing receivers to the sideline or going up and competing for jump balls. I would like to see him more in person to get a true gauge on his athleticism against elite receivers but on film he has a lot of good qualities to play in the Pac-12."
