Return visit a success for Rogers

Oregon State had a big recruiting weekend when they hosted Washington, and although the Beavers didn't have quite the result on the scoreboard they were hoping for, the weekend in recruiting was a success.

OSU already landed a new commitment in Cameron Thomas from Texas, and commits such as Spencer Petras and Kase Rogers had good visits to Corvallis.

This past weekend was Rogers' first visit to Corvallis since he was on campus during the summer. The Beavs' running back commit recapped his official visit with BeaversEdge.com.

"It was really nice - really nice," Rogers said. "We did the photoshoot with the jerseys and went to the game. We met with the coaches, and I'm majoring in business, so I met the business people at the business school. They gave us everything we're going to be doing when we get there.

"It was a very nice atmopshere. The weather up there is good football weather."

The two coaches Rogers is keeping in touch with are wide receivers coach Jason Phillips, who is his area recruiter, and his future position coach, Telly Lockette.

"They were just telling me what it's going to be like when I get there," Rogers explained. "We're cool at this point, so we don't really talk about the recruiting phase. We're past that. We were just talking to them about a whole bunch of different things. Nothing too serious."

The 6-foot, 186-pounder chose Oregon State over Utah and Florida Atlantic back in August. He is firm in his pledge.

"I'm solid," he said.

Rogers suffered an MCL injury early in his senior season, but he is on track to return by the end of the season. He is recovering well.
