Practice Report: Marcus Greaves' notes from Day 1

Marcus Greaves, who played running back for Oregon State from 2014-2017, is now working for BeaversEdge.com as a football analyst.

Greaves was live in Corvallis today, has an in-depth report on how the Beavers looked today, and reports on the starting groups on both sides of the ball.

Day 1 Practice Report

- Overall, that was the best first practice I have seen since being with the team. The players were focused and for the most part, the errors on both sides of the ball were limited.

- Jake Luton came out as the quarterback to take the first reps. He came out making a statement, slinging the ball left and right and moving the offense down the field at will. He connected with Jordan Villamin a handful of times and completing a dime to Trevon Bradford down the sideline.

- Luton looks like he lost a little weight, which seemed to benefit him. He looked very comfortable moving around in the pocket today and dumping off passes to receivers.

- Marcus McMaryion came out with the second team and took off right where he left off. Throwing beautiful deep balls, and gassing the defense down the sideline with his legs. He looks faster and more athletic than ever.

- The offense looked like a well-oiled machine today, here’s what the first team offense looked like today:
