OSU hopes to continue Polynesian pipeline with Isaia

Oregon State hosted recruits from all over the West on Saturday for their spring game, including a big time offensive guard from the state of Nevada.

Jacob Isaia made his way from Las Vegas to Corvallis, and he left his visit with great news.

"(O-line graduate assistant) Josh Oglesby invited me to come to Oregon State for their junior day and spring ball game," Isaia told BeaversEdge.com. "So I got there, and the coaches gave their presentation and talked about the academics and athletics. We went to the dorms at the school, and then came back for lunch at the athletic complex. We went over to go see coach Woods and talked to him. Coach Woods told me he was offering me a scholarship."

"(Woods) was a down to earth type of guy. He really liked my film a lot and really wants me to play over there. He's just a really good coach. I like him."

Isaia is Polynesian and noticed the the countless amount of Polynesian players that OSU has on their roster.

"I really liked how the team has a big Polynesian culture over there," Isaia said. "I really liked that. I also liked how they're really improving on their academics. I actually met with coach Andersen and he really likes me. I'm going to get his number soon, and we're going to start talking. He wants to start talking one-on-one with me."

The Beavs joined Isaia's offer list that already consists of double digit schools.

"I'm happy that Oregon State offered me," said Isaia. "It's a really good offer. It's another option for me and tells me that even more coaches like my film."
