Four-star OT Dawson Jaramillo shares his thoughts on Oregon State

Lake Oswego (Ore.) offensive tackle Dawson Jaramillo is one of eight four-star prospects that call the state of Oregon their home.
Jaramillo, who Rivals.com rates as the No. 208 overall recruit in the country, is being recruited by the Oregon State staff hard. They hosted Jaramillo for a visit on Saturday for Oregon State's spring game, and he spoke with BeaversEdge.com about the visit.
"I took my grandpa and my mom, who usually don't accompany on my visits. It was a little bit of showing them around," Jaramillo said. "At the same time, it was a good chance to sit down with coach Woods and talk to him about what his philosophy is as a coach and as a mentor.
"Last time I visited, I had like a 45 minute talk with coach Andersen. So this time, he asked me if I had any questions for him, so we asked him a few things. And the spring game was fun. It was warm, and we got to watch a little football."
Jaramillo's time talking with his potential future offensive line coach and head coach was a big highlight of Jaramillo's visit.

"With coach Andersen, we were talking about the life after football program and the big things about it," he said. "That was good; it's something that I'm starting to ask schools about because of the way Oregon State runs it.
"With coach Woods, he was telling me how he's going to coach me, what his coaching style is, and a little bit of his backstory. I learned about his family, and my mom was talking to him. He's going to push me and try to make me a better football, but he's also going to push me to make me a better person, which is important to me and my family. That was really good."
Jaramillo has eight offers in total, with Oregon, California, TCU, Virginia, UCLA, Washington, and Utah joining the Beavs on his offer list.
The Beavers figure to be a school that will be a factor in his recruitment for the long run.
"They're a school that's very familiar to me, which is good," explained Jaramillo. "I have a small group of schools that I'm interested in that I want to get to know well and just build relationships with the coaches. Oregon State is definitely in that.
"The past is the past with coach Andersen over the past two years, but I think they have a bright future and have something special. I've seen a couple of their videos from practice on Twitter, and they're playing games, having fun, and building team chemistry. It's a special, tight knit group that might not win ten games, but they're going to fight hard and the offensive line is going to be physical. They're going to be a brotherhood, and that would be something special to play for and be a part of. I'm interested to see what the future holds for them, because it's definitely going to be something special."
Jaramillo noted that he's been to Oregon State around five times in total and before his spring game visit, he stopped in at OSU just a couple of weeks prior.
Jaramillo plans to visit Washington on April 15 and Oregon on April 22. He also hopes to make a trip east to see Virginia sometime over the summer.
