This event had the theme of Be Fast - with a video that kicked things off with the tagline, "Be Fast or Be Forgotten."
ESPN College GameDay's Chris Fowler hosted the event and claimed that this was college football's fashion week. Fowler stressed the importance of the look of the jersey as it helps with player motivation, pride, fan support, and recruiting.
Nike said they listened to players' feedback on what they wanted in a jersey, the main themes were light weight and durable.
These jerseys are all about speed, absorbent material & ventilation systems that allow for playing at top speed.
Nike's goal in creating this new batch of Pro Combat uniforms was to create "Modern Legends" that highlighted certain aspects of each program.
The Oregon State uniforms were introduced by Steve Preece from the 1967 team. The Oregon State Pro Combat uniform featured a bold jersey design inspired by his team - The Giant Killers.
Traditional and simple, the uniforms featured predominant orange stripes and bold numbers that are inspired by the neo-classical architecture on the Oregon State campus. "Beaver Nation" is proudly displayed on the cuffs of the gloves and inside collar of the jersey.
The uniforms have an "old school" feel, complete with off-white pants. It took the NIKE designers quite a bit of time to find just the right white to give the pants a 'dirty' look.
The black helmets are intimidating with their flat finish (I absolutely loved them!!!)
Oregon State will debut their NIKE Pro Combat uniforms during the Dec. 4 Civil War game.
TCU will be wearing their Nike Pro Combat Uniforms in the opening game against the Beavs, this Saturday in Dallas.
