BeaversEdge.com has been reporting on its premium message board for months now that Banning (Calif.) running back Taron Madison has been a strong Oregon State lean.

It was just going to be a matter of time before the nation's No. 25 running back recruit would pledge to the Beavers, and the 6-foot-1, 192-pounder announced his decision to commit to the Beavers on Tuesday night.

Madison also held offers from the likes of Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Washington State over the course of his recruitment. He visited Oregon State in early June and was very fond of his time in Corvallis.

"It went great," Madison said in June. "I loved the facilities. The coaches all loved me. I interacted with some of the players, and we all got along very well. The coaches all loved me and showed me a great welcoming."

The Beavers have been wanting to add a running back to its 2019 recruiting class, and Madison has been the top guy for them for quite some time.

In an interview in late-August, Madison said that he had his mind up on which school he wanted to choose. That school was Oregon State.

Madison becomes Oregon State's 12th commitment of the 2019 class, but that does not include incoming freshmen such as offensive linemen Josh Bowcut, who will come off his LDS mission, and Joshua Gray, a gray shirt from the class of 2018. QB Tristan Gebbia, ILB Avery Roberts, and OLB Addison Gumbs will be eligible to play for the Beavs as well.

Next season, the Beavers are slated to return Artavis Pierce, Christian Wallace, Calvin Tyler, BJ Baylor, Kase Rogers, and Jermar Jefferson at running back.
