CORVALLIS -- BeaversEdge.com caught up with Oregon State running backs coach Telly Lockette, who talked about the Beavs' two new running back signees and much more.
Opening
Lockette: "Calvin Tyler is a very explosive kid. He's down from Silsbee, Texas. The kid is exciting, explosive. He's a kid that (nearly) rushed for 3,000 yards and 29 touchdowns. He'll come in and help us compete and try to get us to the next level. With Ryan Nall and AP (Artavis Pierce) coming back, we'll have a changeup back that can also do some great things out of the backfield. He gives us that opportunity.
"BJ Baylor is long 6-foot, 190-pound kid. He's a track kid that can run inside and outside type. He also rushed for 2,000 yards. Combined for those two kids last year, they rushed for (nearly) 5,000 yards. With that productivity coming in and helping the stable of running backs we have here is a great plus for us."
