Trajon Cotton commits to the Oregon State Beavers
Mission #TrajonToCorvallis ... Success
Oregon State was one of the first schools to offer Sacramento (Calif.) Inderkum safety Trajon Cotton as the Beavs extended a scholarship to him last February. OSU tight ends coach Dave Baldwin was recruiting him, but the Beavs were never thought of as a serious threat in his recruitment through the spring and summer.
In an interview with BeaversEdge.com in December, Cotton admitted that he was never seriously considering Oregon State during the summer and into the fall months. However, Baldwin stayed consistent on Cotton and set up an in-home visit in December, which vaulted OSU up Cotton's list.
"We were talking about everything that Oregon State has to offer," Cotton said. "I never really thought of Oregon State like that. I was just seeing the opportunities that they have for their players and students. I liked that."
Cotton officially visited Oregon State on the weekend of January 13.
"Corvallis is a special place," Cotton said. "It was a really interesting visit; I liked it a lot. I liked the whole vibe from the town and everybody was really nice. It's really a college town like everyone says. Everything is right there, close to each other. You don't have to travel very far - the dorms, hotel, stadium, facilities, campus.
Cotton's final two was Oregon State and Colorado, and on Sunday, he committed to the Beavers.
