Quartz Hill (Calif.) athlete Matthew Tago had a busy weekend this past week as he attended two satellite camps.

On Saturday, he was at the University of Redlands where Utah State, Colorado, and Northern Arizona had coaches. On Sunday, Tago checked in at the Azusa Pacific camp, which Oregon State had coaches at.

Tago wasn't able to participate in front of the OSU coaching staff because he tweaked his back the previous day. He still landed an offer from the Beavers.

"I didn't work out during that camp because at the Colorado camp, I messed up my back in one of the drills. I met coach Chad and the head coach. They told me that they were going to offer me," Tago said.

Tago is an intriguing recruit as he could potentially play a few different spots at the next level. Tago has a quarterback offer from Colorado State, has interest from schools as a tight end, Washington State likes him as a stand up edge rusher, and he's also being recruited at inside and outside linebacker. Some schools have even slapped the "athlete" tag on him.

Oregon State prefers him at outside linebacker.

"I honestly wasn't expecting it," he said of the OSU offer. "I was shocked when I got it. It was cool."

During the Oregon State camp, he spent a lot of time with outside linebackers coach Chad Kauha'aha'a. Tago is of Samoan descent and has the Polynesian connection with Kauha'aha'a

"He's Samoan and Hawaiian. We bonded and clicked," Tago said.

What's next in Tago's recruitment?

"Right now, I'm still open to anybody, but I think I'm going to narrow it down before the end of summer," he said.

Tago will camp at USC on Sunday for their Rising Stars Camp.
