Chandler (Ariz.) running back and Beaver commit T.J. Green capped off an incredible senior season by winning the Geico Bowl in Frisco, Texas. They played at a Dallas Cowboys' facility stadium that seats 12,000 people and routed Georgia powerhouse Valdosta, 44-24.
"It was great to have an experience like that with my team," Green said. "We all had fun. The whole trip was fun. It was great spending more time with my teammates."
Before Green's squad won the Geico Bowl, they capped off their season with a state championship win over Mountain Pointe, 36-17.
What was impressive about that win was that Chandler actually lost to Mountain Pointe 56-7 back in early September.
"It was just hard work and dedication," Green said. "We grinded after that loss, and we didn't like that feeling. We worked hard to not feel that way again. It paid off."
Green finished his senior season with 2,267 rushing yards and a not too shabby 35 rushing touchdown total on 247 carries. He also added four receiving touchdowns as well.
He met his preseason goals, obviously.
