Onesimus Lutu-Clarke was slated to officially visit Boise State this weekend, but he'll be staying in Hawaii instead.

The beautiful Hawaii weather isn't the reason either. He won't be seeing Boise because he committed to the Oregon State Beavers on Sunday night.

As he said in his commitment tweet, he is "committed and locked in" with Oregon State.

The 6-foot-5, 290-pound recruit decided join the Beavers' program in large part due to head coach Gary Andersen and his coaching staff.

"I love the way they carry themselves," Lutu-Clarke told BeaversEdge.com. "They have such a big bond with their team, and coach Andersen loves his players. When I went on my official visit, I was reminded of how much the Polynesians mean to him. Their Polynesian players said how much they were impacted by him.

"Being able to be one of the Polynesians that go over there made me driven in my heart to go to Oregon State. Coach Chad [Kauha'aha'a], coach TJ Woods, and coach Andersen - they all believe in me."

Lutu-Clarke received a visit from Andersen, Kauha'aha'a, Woods, and John Rushing on Sunday, which sealed the deal of his Oregon State choice.

What was their message to him during the visit?

"That they're still strong with me," Lutu-Clarke answered. "They showed the importance of me being at Oregon State. I'm not just going to be someone who gets recruited and then is benched for three years. They emphasize me being one of the leaders and I can be something great for Oregon State. They stressed so much that they need me there."

"They're a Pac-12 school; they're definitely going to play against the best," Lutu-Clarke continued. "They have top of the line facilities. The education is top of the line. The coaches show a family oriented atmosphere; they'll love you like their own."

The Beavers have been recruiting him for a very long time, which helped their cause to land Lutu-Clarke.

"They offered so early; they were my first offer," he said. "They kept saying how I was important and they needed me there. Finally, I knew they were definitely the school for me."

Lutu-Clarke's recruitment is all but over and will sign with Oregon State on National Signing Day, February 1.
