Santa Margarita Catholic (Calif.) outside linebacker John McCartan committed to Oregon State on January 27 and is the Beavers' newest outside linebacker. McCartan previously committed to Fresno State back in the summer but decommitted in December as his options started to increase. McCartan held offers from Vanderbilt and Washington State, and he even tripped to Pullman for an official visit, but Oregon State won out for the 6-foot-5, 225-pounder.
