McCartan gives OSU two commitments on Saturday
Oregon State landed Jeromy Reichner a few hours prior to earning a commitment from Santa Margarita Catholic (Calif.) OLB/DE John McCartan on Saturday. This is a big commitment as the Beavers were looking to add depth to their outside linebacking core.
McCartan was previously committed to Fresno State but opened his options up in December. He picked up an offer from Washington State the day after his decommitment and officially visited the Cougars last weekend.
However, Oregon State, who offered on January 16, won out for the 6-foot-5, 225-pounder. While on his official visit in Corvallis this weekend, McCartan decided that OSU was the best place for him. He will sign on February 7.
The Beavers now have 13 scholarship commitments in their 2018 recruiting class. McCartan joins Isaiah Tufaga and Craig Francois as linebacker commits for OSU.
