Oregon State released their game notes to the media on Tuesday, which included their two-deep depth chart and injury report.
BeaversEdge.com lists the depth chart below with our thoughts on the two-deep.
NOTES
* Thomas Tyner and Artavis Pierce are listed as an "OR" as the second team running back. This is not much of a surprise, but we think that Tyner will receive more second team carries than Pierce. Oregon State has been resting Ryan Nall and Tyner more and more recently, which shows us that they are the two top backs. Also, the Beavs have Pierce at kickoff return, which goes to show, to us, that Tyner is more important as a ball carrier.
* The wide receiver depth chart is about what we expected. In the portions available to media, Arex Flemings has stood out, but it's not a surprise that he didn't crack the two deep as Trevon Bradford and Xavier Hawkins are more seasoned veterans.
* A couple of true freshmen wide receivers cracked the two deepth. It's no surprise that Isaiah Hodgins is the starter as the Gary Andersen named him a starter weeks ago. Tino Allen is behind Jordan Villamin.
* Trent Moore was the right tackle and Fred Lauina was the right guard for most of fall camp, but the Beavs recently switched their positions, and that's what they're listed at in the depth chart.

NOTES
* We are a little surprised that Paisa Savea is getting the start at defensive end over Baker Pritchard. It's not a big deal as they will all receive ample playing time to keep each other fresh.
* The linebacker depth chart is exactly what we thought it would be. The Beavs have yet to make a decision on who will start between Andrzej Hughes-Murray and Wesley Payne, which is no surprise. Both guys have been having great fall camps.
* We've been hearing from sources that Landry Payne has actually been flying under the radar and having a great fall camp. Remember, we only get to see the last 15-30 minutes of practices, which are scrimmage portions. We haven't seen a ton of Landry Payne during those times, but we've heard he's been doing very well. The other safeties next to Brandon Arnold - Jalen Moore (the starter), Austin Hudson, and Davis Morris - have had good fall camps as well. It's not a surprise that Payne isn't a starter, but it's a surprise that he's not in the backup discussion according to this depth chart.
* Dwayne Williams is listed ahead of Jay Irvine, which is interesting. Williams is a perfect nickel cornerback, but when the Beavs are in their base 3-4 set, will he be cornerback on the outside or will it be Jay Irvine?
