Miramar (Fla.) athlete Terrence Horne Jr. had a steady spring that included several offers. In fact, his first scholarship offer came during April from Oregon State.
He's earned official offers from Florida International, Oregon State, UCF, and Cincinnati. The latter three schools make up his top three.
"Recruiting is going well. I'm setting up some official visits," Horne said. "I'll take my visits and take my recruitment from there."
He's been in touch with coaches from Cincinnati about setting up an official visit there and will talk with UCF soon about an official.
Horne has set up an official visit with Oregon State. He's scheduled to visit Corvallis when the Beavers host Washington on September 30.
Horne is being recruited by OSU running backs coach Telly Lockette, who is born and raised in south Florida.
"Me and coach Lockette have a really strong relationship," Horne said. "He came down a lot during the spring to see me. I feel like we have a good relationship."
Florida is a long ways away from Oregon but that doesn't concern Horne too much.
"My parents tell me all of the time to not be afraid of venturing out," he said. "They'll be fine with me going anywhere."
"I've actually been watching Oregon State on TV since I was younger. I remember the Rodgers brothers and Brandin Cooks went there. Coach Lockette tells me that they'll use me just like I'm used in my high school."
Horne is a dynamic athlete who stands at 5-foot-9, 166-pounds.
"I'd be playing like running back and wide receiver - but mostly running back," Horne said about his fit at OSU. "[Lockette] wants me more at running back. I tell him that I can play both and special teams."
