Gary Andersen likes to be stocked with offensive lineman, and he added a new lineman to his roster in Riverside (Calif.) Community College offensive tackle Keli'i Montibon.

Montibon was a full qualifier out Kamehameha High School in Hawaii. He went the junior college route to continue his football career at the next level. It paid off.

The 6-foot-4, 285-pounder played his freshman season at Riverside and could've returned to play there for his sophomore season.

Montibon wanted to play at the Power Five conference level as soon as he could, so he decided that Oregon State was the place for him.

"My main goal going into JuCo was to get out after a year," Montibon told BeaversEdge.com. "I thought I had to take and run with the opportunity to play for Oregon State."

Montibon visited Oregon State last weekend.

"I had a great time in Corvallis," he said. "Drew Kell is from the same town as me in Hawaii. He was my host; I stayed with him. He showed me around. I got to talk to the coaches and some of the Polynesian teammates. I felt really comfortable with the vibe that it's family over there."

Montibon is blue shirting at Oregon State, which means that he enrolls at Oregon State this summer and will be put on scholarship the first day of fall camp. Montibon's scholarship will count towards OSU's 2018 recruiting class.

Montibon is going to come to Oregon State to fight for playing time as a true sophomore.

"I'm a Polynesian kid trying to work the hardest he can," said Montibon.
