Rivals.com west coast analyst Adam Gorney reported on Saturday evening that Los Angeles (Calif.) Cathedral outside linebacker Craig Francois landed an offer from Oregon State.

"I've been waiting a long time for it, since spring," Francois told BeaversEdge.com. "They liked me since spring, but I knew it was going to come. This past weekend was pretty exciting. I'm excited."

On Sunday, Francois announced his intentions to commit to the Oregon State Beavers, choosing OSU over Colorado State, Hawaii, San Jose State, and Wahsington State.

Interim head coach Cory Hall attended Francois' game on Friday and decided that it was time for OSU to extended the offer to Francois. It didn't take long for Francois to decided that Corvallis would be his next home.

Francois has known Hall since January when Jeffrey Manning, who is currently a DB at OSU but was just a commit at the time, introduced Hall to Francois.

"When he comes to Cathedral, he always says 'what's up' to me," said Francois. "He's called me a few times to check up on me and everything. He's an awesome dude, fun to talk to. He has a good personality, and he relates to a lot of California kids because he's from California."

Oregon State continues its pipeline of LA Cathedral with Francois' commitment. The Beavs landed Manning and Arex Flemings in the 2017 class.

Francois stands at 6-foot-2, 210-pounds and Rivals.com ranks him as a three-star prospect.

Francois is committed to Oregon State's interim staff, but his commitment does not bind him to Oregon State. If the interim staff is not retained, the new staff would likely keep Francois, but there's always a chance that they wouldn't honor his scholarship. There's also a chance that Francois doesn't click with the new staff and decommits.

Hall's first commitment as interim head coach came from Isaiah Tufaga and Francois' is his second pledge.
