Cory Hall has been Oregon State's interim head coach for three weeks, and he landed his first commitment as the leader of the program on Sunday.

Honolulu (Hawaii) St. Louis inside linebacker Isaiah Tufaga announced his intentions to play for the Beavers. He picked Oregon State over Fresno State, Hawaii, Nevada, UNLV, and Vanderbilt.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound three-star prospect officially visited Oregon State in September, and even though the Beavers were thrashed by Minnesota the weekend Tufaga visited, he loved his time in Corvallis.

During his official visit, he was hosted by fellow Hawaii natives and true freshmen Kesi Ah-Hoy and Charles Moku Watson.

“The visit was great," Tufaga told BeaversEdge.com following his visit. "I was with a bunch of my boys from back home and it made it feel like home over there. The coaching staff is great, the facilities are great and everyone around there are good people. They have a very good staff.”

Tufaga is listed as an athlete by Rivals.com but Oregon State has recruited him as an inside linebacker. Tufaga can play safety as well.

Tufaga is committed to Oregon State's interim staff, but his commitment does not bind him to Oregon State. If the interim staff is not retained, the new staff would likely keep Tufaga, but there's always a chance that they wouldn't honor his scholarship. There's also a chance that Tufaga doesn't click with the new staff and decommits.
