MORE: Beavers In The Mix For DL Mason Graham | EDGE Top 25: No. 22 Champ Flemings
Oregon State and head coach Jonathan Smith have been hot on the recruiting trail as of late and that momentum continued on Friday night as the Beavers landed 2022 offensive tackle Luka Vincic.
The 6-foot-5, 260-pounder is a big get for the Beavers as they were able to win another recruiting battle against Pac-12 foes. Vincic chose OSU over the likes of Cal & Utah and that's big considering he took official visits to both schools following his trip to Corvallis.
Vincic, who visited campus the weekend of June 11th, came away extremely impressed with what the Beavers had to offer, and ultimately, that turned out to be a determining factor.
"The visit went great. I got to meet just about every coach, see the campus and have some great games of ping pong, golf, and hang out with my senior host Brandon Kipper. I really enjoyed just getting to meet all the coaches and getting to know more about the school. Everyone I talked to seemed very genuine and fun to talk to."
His versatility will be a key addition to the offensive line as he's extremely adept at being able to use his frame in a variety of ways. He'll certainly fit exactly what the Beavers are looking for at the position as he can protect the quarterback as well as get downfield and be a force in the run-blocking game.
Vincic becomes the third offensive line pledge in the 2022 class, joining Dylan Lopez and Jacob Strand.
