5 Storylines to Watch in January
As we enter the first month of the New Year, there are several looming questions or notes of high importance. We open the New Year with 5 items to watch in January.

1. What will happen with the assistant coach hires?
- With the dead period ending in 11 days, it's critical that Oregon State makes their new hires before the recrutiing period kicks back into full gear. Gary Andersen wants to continue to have two wide receiver coaches like he's had at OSU, which will allow him to coach the defensive line. Oregon State lost their outside receivers coach Brent Brennan and safeties coach Derrick Odum to San Jose State. Odum played a key role bringing in talented recruits from Texas and Florida in the 2016 class, but he did not do as well in the 2017 class. Oregon State needs to bring in new coaches that have pipelines to key recruiting areas for the Beavers.
