Looking Ahead at OSU: Quarterbacks
BeaversEdge.com begins the "Looking Ahead at OSU" feature and starts with the quarterback position.
Who Stays?
Oregon State does not lose a single quarterback from their 2016 roster. Darell Garretson will be the oldest player of the bunch as he will be a redshirt senior. Marcus McMaryion will be a redshirt junior, and after his solid performance down the stretch of 2016, he should be taking the first team reps at the start of spring ball. Walk on Conor Blount will enter his sophomore season, and Mason Moran is the wild card of the group as a redshirt freshman. Beaver fans would love for Moran to be ready to take over the starting job for the next few years at OSU.
Who Goes?
No one. Oregon State returns four quarterbacks and brings in two additional quarterbacks. Quarterback will be a crowded spot in 2017, so will we see anyone transfer? Garretson, McMaryion, and Jake Luton wouldn't be able to transfer if they wanted to with their eligibility situations. Blount could transfer if he thought he could get on scholarship at a smaller school.
