We may be just a week away from National Signing Day, but that isn't stopping Coach Andersen and the Oregon State Beavers from making a last minute pitch to athletes they feel could strengthen the team.

The recent departure of Seth Collins has opened up a spot on the Oregon State roster and coaches are talking with 6-foot-3, 185 pound athlete Kee Whetzel from Clearwater, Florida.

Whetzel has double digit offers already, but he is intrigued by Oregon State who plans to see him tomorrow (Tuesday).

"Yes, the (Oregon State) coaches will either be making an in home (visit) or they'll be at my school," he said. "There's a high chance of an official visit, we will set that up tomorrow."

The versatile athlete is being recruited by the Beavers as a receiver, linebacker or safety. Simply an outstanding athlete who could make a big impact on either side of the ball in Corvallis.

Whetzel promised to keep BeaverBlitz.com updated on his plans for this weekend.
