Three of Oregon State's four new commitments were offered under the Cory Hall regime in Corvallis. One of them though was a longtime target of Gary Andersen.
Honolulu (Hawaii) St. Louis athlete Isaiah Tufaga was offered by the Beavers back in May and officially visited OSU when the Beavers hosted Minnesota in September.
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound linebacker/safety hybrid made his decision to choose Oregon State over Fresno State, Nevada, Vanderbilt, and others.
"Coming off my official visit, I was going to commit when I got back home," Tufaga explained. "I was talking about it with my parents. Then shortly after, they had the coaching change, so that altered my [decision].
"I was talking with the other commits, and they've been pushing me and pushing me. I like what coach Hall is doing with the program, and I see where the program is going. I hope they keep him. I like him; he's a good coach. A lot of old teammates are over there, so that also helps."
As mentioned, coach Hall has landed four commitments as OSU's interim coach, which is incredibly impressive. Hall is able to sell these recruits when it's uncertain whether or not he'll even be at Oregon State in 2018.
