Starks Earns PAC 12 POW Honors

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - OREGON STATE junior guard Ahmad Starks has been named the Pac-12 Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 5-11, the Conference announced Monday.
The junior led the Beavers to a 2-0 opening weekend by averaging 25.5 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals per game. In the season opener against Niagara, Starks hit a career-high six three-pointers en route to scoring 18 points. He went 6-14 on field goals and notched six rebounds on the night.

The Chicago, Ill., native had a career performance against New Mexico State on Nov. 11. Starks scored a career-best 33 points off of 11 field goals and nine free throws. He had a career high of 11 field goals, 21 field goal attempts, nine free throws and 12 free throws attempted in the game. In addition to his scoring attack, Starks tallied five rebounds, four steals and four assists.
This is Stark's second career Pac-12 Player of the Week honor and the 43rd all-time selection for Oregon State. Starks' first selection came on Dec. 19, 2011.
The Beavers travel to the 2K Sports Classic Championship in New York, N.Y. this week where they will face Alabama on Thursday, November 15 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2, and then either Purdue or Villanova on Friday, November 16 on ESPN2.
