Spring Football Schedule Set

Corvallis - Fresh off a 9-4 campaign and an early projected preseason top 25 ranking for 2013, the Oregon State football team returns to the field in preparation for the upcoming season Mon., April 1. The 15-practice session culminates with the annual Spring Game Fri., April 26 at Reser Stadium. The Spring Game will be televised live in prime time at 7 p.m. nationally on the Pac-12 Networks.
"The exposure the team will receive from the prime time national television audience is important in that it allows us to showcase the Beavers to our many fans and potential recruits," OSU head coach Mike Riley said. "The players always enjoy playing on television and they will be thrilled about this opportunity after a month of practices."

OSU ended the 2012 season ranked No. 19 in the final USA Today/Coaches Poll and No. 20 by the Associated Press. The team returns a total of 302 combined starts, including All-America candidate defensive end Scott Crichton. In addition to Crichton, OSU's starters returning on defense include defensive end Dylan Wynn, linebackers D.J. Alexander and Michael Doctor, safeties Ryan Murphy and Tyrequek Zimmerman, and cornerback Rashaad Reynolds.
Offensively, the Beavers will be one of the most experienced teams in the conference. The unit is led by returning starting quarterbacks Sean Mannion and Cody Vaz, running back Storm Woods, offensive linemen Michael Philipp, Josh Andrews, Isaac Seumalo and Grant Enger, H-back Connor Hamlett, and wide receivers Brandin Cooks and Kevin Cummings. OSU also returns starters on the special teams, including kicker Trevor Romaine and punter Keith Kostol.
"I'm anxious to get started in April; we have a tremendous nucleus returning to build upon for this fall," Riley said. "The team has been working hard in offseason conditioning and I'm excited to see the improvement we have made over the winter months."
OSU will announce at a later date fan engagement activities around the Spring Game as well as the home events that day for the Beaver baseball, softball, and track and field teams.
Oregon State opens the season Aug. 31 at home against Football Championship Series power Eastern Washington at Reser Stadium and also hosts Hawai'i, Stanford, USC, Washington and Colorado.
