A source close to the situation in Lincoln, Nebraska has confirmed to BeaversEdge.com that inside linebacker Avery Roberts will be transferring to Oregon State.
Last week, Nebraska confirmed that Roberts was granted his release to transfer to another school. He will rejoin Trent Bray, who was his position coach at Nebraska last season, in Corvallis, Oregon.
Roberts, who was a Rivals100 four-star recruit in the class of 2017, appeared in all 12 games last season for the Cornhuskers under former head coach Mike Riley, who is now involved with the Oregon State football program. Roberts recorded four tackles as a true freshman in 2017 and played a key role on special teams.
Roberts will redshirt this season and will be a redshirt sophomore in 2019.
As a recruit, Roberts held over 30 scholarships, and the likes of Clemson, Miami, Oklahoma, and Tennessee offered him a scholarship.
