The Good and The Bad: Oregon State loses a heartbreaker at Nevada
Oregon State head football coach Jonathan Smith saw his team go down 30-7 in the blink of an eye, but the defense rallied and the offense got things going.
After the Conor Blount fumble returned for a Nevada touchdown, the Beavers outscored the Wolf Pack 28-7 the rest of the way but came out on the losing end, 37-35.
"There was some progress defensively," Smith said postgame. "Getting in that hole and battling like they did; shoot, it seemed like there was 10 of 11 series we got stops. I was really proud of those guys to keep us in the game. We had a chance. [Nevada] is a good football team -- good offense. We had our chance and have to take advantage of it.
"We're about competing and improving week in and week out. [The defense] has improved for two straight weeks ... I appreciate their effort for 60 minutes."
