Oregon State Beavers head football coach Jonathan Smith met with the media on Thursday after practice, and the No. 1 question for him on everyone's mind was about the quarterback situation.

Jake Luton suffered a concussion after just a few snaps in the Ohio State game and his status this week has been up in the air.

Luton did not practice on Sunday or Tuesday (Beavs don't practice on Mondays), but Smith confirmed that Luton did practice some on Wednesday and Thursday, although in more of a limited role -- keeping him out of contact periods.

"He practiced more today. We're still waiting on -- I'll catch up with the docs here after practice and things," Smith said. "He did practice more today and threw it well.

"We've gotta talk to the docs. I'm not totally certain [on who will start]. I do feel confident that whoever we put out there can make some plays."

With Luton either limited or not being able to practice, it allowed for Conor Blount and Jack Colletto to get more reps this week.

"We divide the reps up, and what Jake could do yesterday and today, he did the maximum of what he could do. That still allowed Conor and Colletto to get some reps," Smith said.

"We always ask them to prep like they're going to start the game. Those two guys have gotten a lot of reps this week."

Unless another media outlet breaks the news or OSU makes an announcement, we won't have official word on who Oregon State's quarterback will be until game time.

In other injury news, Smith said that cornerback Isaiah Dunn, who missed the Ohio State game with an injury, is 50/50 for this weekend.
