Pierce talks OSU visit and future plans

A few weeks have passed since Oregon State running back commit Artavis Pierce visited the OSU campus. He has been tough to reach, but we finally caught up with him on Thursday afternoon to get his thoughts on his visit to the northwest.
"It went great," Pierce said. "Tim Cook was my host and I'm still committed."

What was it that stood out about Oregon State?
"I loved the environment and the fact that everything is so chill," he said. "I also loved the coaches and I have a great relationship with them. They all made me feel like they all knew me when I got there."
He also had a chance to meet future teammates Christian Wallace and Joah Robinett who visited during the same weekend. Could he have met a fourth future teammate during the trip?
"Shurod Thompson was on the trip too, and I think he really liked Oregon State too," Pierce said. "He is supposed to announce soon."
Position coach Telly Lockette has been the lead recruiter for him and was in Auburndale, Florida this week.
"(Coach Lockette) was at practice and we've built a really good relationship," he said.
"I'm completely solid with Oregon State," he continued. "I may take a trip to Bowling Green, but it wouldn't be anything serious, just a trip."
Auburndale is struggling this season, and are 0-4, however Pierce hopes their fortunes change tomorrow when they start district play.
