Pac-12 Power Rankings

Slaughter's Stance - Buy: USC ... Sell: Cal ... Wait and see: Utah

1. Washington 9-0 (6-0 Pac-12)

Change in ranking: none

- After being left out of the initial top four of the College Football Playoff rankings, the Huskies will surely slide to the No. 4 spot after Texas A&M lost to Mississippi State over the weekend. The Huskies dropped 66 points in a night game against Cal. Washington has a tough game this weekend as surging USC comes to town.

2. Washington State 7-2 (6-0)

Change in ranking: none

- After narrowly defeating UCLA, Arizona State, and Oregon State, Wazzu crushed Arizona 69-7. The Cougs should get a win against Cal this weekend, but then they finish with Colorado and Washington.

3. Utah 7-2 (4-2)

Change in ranking: none

- The Utes were idle last week and face Arizona State on Thursday night. Their Pac-12 South hopes are still alive, but they will likely need to win out to do so. Their outcome of going to Boulder to face the Buffs on November 26 will likely decide the South.

4. USC 6-3 (5-2)

Change in ranking: none

- The Trojans are red hot and have won five consecutive Pac-12 games. If USC knocks off Washington this weekend and UCLA the following weekend, then USC will win the Pac-12 South if Colorado loses to Arizona,Washington State, or Utah.

5. Colorado 7-2 (5-1)

Change in ranking: none

- The Buffs are at the top of the Pac-12 South and have won five of their last six games. Colorado is the favorite to meet Washington or Washington State in the Pac-12 Championship game.

6. Stanford 6-3 (4-3)

Change in ranking: none

- Stanford vs Oregon. Winner takes the Pac-12 North, right? Well, that's not the story of the 2016 season for these two perennial Pac-12 North powers. Stanford is still a tough team that could finish the season 10-3 by winning out, which is not out of the question.

7. Arizona State 5-4 (2-4)

Change in ranking: up one spot

- The Sun Devils haven't won a game in a month, so why do they move up? At this point, we think they're a better football team than Cal, the team that was ranked one spot above them last week. They did beat Cal 51-41 earlier this season as well. They face off with Utah and Washington the next two weeks, so it's unlikely that the Sun Devils will get a win until they face Arizona to finish out the regular season, which would get them to six wins.

8. Cal 4-5 (2-4)

Change in ranking: down one spot

- Cal fell to Washington 66-27 in a Pac-12 after dark matchup on Saturday. Cal needs to win two of their next three games to become bowl eligible, but that won't be easy with two of those games being against Washington State and Stanford.

9. UCLA 3-6 (1-5)

Change in ranking: none

- The Bruins will look to get back in the win column against Oregon State this weekend. They've lost four consecutive games with their most recent loss against Colorado last Thursday.

10. Oregon 3-6 (1-5)

Change in ranking: none

- Oregon was thrashed by USC 45-20 on Saturday. They've lost six of their past seven games.

11. Oregon State 2-7 (1-5)

Change in ranking: none

- The Beavers are keeping things close in their last few games, but they haven't been able to get back in the win column since October 8. A road game against UCLA is a good chance for Oregon State to win their second Pac-12 game.

12. Arizona 2-7 (0-6)

Change in ranking: none

- Arizona has dropped six in a row and have Colorado coming to town this weekend. It has been very tough sledding for the Wildcats this season.
