OSU offense attempts to find rhythm

Victor Bolden (@BeaverFootball)

After a rough first half against Boise State and an injury to starter Darell Garretson, the Beavers look to find consistency from their offense heading into a big matchup with Colorado on Saturday. The Buffaloes are coming off of the program’s biggest win in recent memory after defeating the Oregon Ducks in Autzen Stadium last week.

The Beavers will have a tough task with an improved Colorado defense.

“Obviously Colorado has some pretty stout guys,” lineman Gavin Andrews said. “They are a veteran defense and they have shown they are very good. Holding Oregon to that many points is a plus for anybody with day and age of offense. We are looking at veteran good who is very football savvy.

Wide receivers coach Brent Brennan added that the wide receivers did a good job with Conor Blount in at quarterback, and that the receiving core did a nice job with him at the helm.

“I thought we moved the ball very well with (Blount),” Brennan said. “I thought he did a great job, and football is football and the kids will figure it out.

Freshman Artavis Pierce has solidified himself as the number two running back behind Ryan Nall, according to running backs coach Telly Lockette. He mentioned that Pierce has played very well, and the competition at the running back position is only making the group stronger.

Quotable

“I can’t wait to see how this season turns out when we enter the Pac-12 (schedule),” Andrews said. “I firmly beleive beleive that we will fight in this game (against Colorado) and fight to the death to try and come out with the win.
