Oregon State lands Florida back

BeaverBlitz spoke to Auburndale, Florida running back Artavis Pierce back in March after he landed his Oregon State offer. He liked what he had heard from the Beavers coaches and on Friday he pulled the trigger and committed to Oregon State.
The 5-foot-9, 190 pound back is a true power back. In 2014 he ran the ball 126 times for 1126 yards and 12 touchdowns, an eye popping 8.9 yards per carry average. He was also a team captain.

Pierce has yet to visit Oregon State, but will make an official visit during the season.
"Coach Odum said their coaches watched my film and they liked it," Pierce told BeaverBlitz after he received his Oregon State offer. "They thought I would be a good fit for the offense. They didn't get into what (they liked about him) but they said the offense would be a good fit. I feel like I'm an every-down back. I can do everything. I can run between the tackles, run outside and I've got good hands."
