Clackamas (Ore.) wide receiver Cole Turner has Mountain West and Ivy League offers, but until this past weekend, the 6-foot-6, 195-pound 2018 recruit didn't have a Power Five conference offer.

That changed after Friday night as Turner impressed the Oregon State coaches at their prospect camp.

"Yeah it was really exciting for me," Turner said about the OSU offer. "Oregon State is a school I grew up watching, and I've always been around the program. For now to get the opportunity to further my education and play for a school that I grew up watching is a special feeling.

"I wouldn't say that it came as a surprise, but I didn't think that if I just went [to the camp] then I'd for sure have it. I had to prove it to them, and they said I did that. Now they want me to come play for them."

Turner had a great time in Corvallis - catching passes from an Oregon State commit. Beaver fans would love to see a Petras to Turner connection for the next few years.

"I felt like I did well. I did a lot routes on air and one-on-ones with their commit, Spencer Petras. We spent a lot of the time together," Turner said. "I really liked him. He can really sling it. I was surprised to see the velocity he has on his ball. You can really tell the difference between he and everyone else there."

Turner is taking his time with the recruiting process.

"I'm not going to rush anything," he said. I'm not going to say that I'm committing anytime soon, but they're definitely up there as a leader."

Turner plans to camp at Air Force this weekend.
