Moran solid with Oregon State

The last time we spoke with Mason Moran, the Beavers' quarterback commit was gearing up for his senior season to start at Chandler High School.
With only three regular season games left in his senior year, the first-year starter under center has led the Wolves to a 6-1 record. Their only loss of the season was to the #1 high school team in the country, Bishop Gorman.

"We played Bishop Gorman really tough but Chase (Lucas) got hurt on the opening kickoff return." Mason told BeaverBlitz. "Bishop Gorman is #1 in the nation for a reason, they have some quality guys on their team. But you never know, had we had Chase for the entire game, he's another weapon, and things might have gone differently."
Moran's Chandler team currently ranks as the #19 high school team in the nation, according to MaxPreps.com. The 3* quarterback has put up some gaudy numbers so far, passing for over 1600 yards and 14 touchdowns. With Lucas having been out since the Bishop Gorman contest, Moran has been called on for making more plays on the ground as well, amassing nearly 500 yards rushing, including two 100-yard rushing games.
"It's been a really fun season so far. The guys around me make it all really fun and they make my numbers look really good," he said with a laugh. "I mean if I can throw a screen pass and then they take it to the house, that makes my numbers look real good!"
The modest quarterback has been following the Beavers closely since the season began. While he admitted that the Beavers have played well in every game, they have lost a couple tough games.
But the future is bright according to him, "I think Coach Andersen has a great thing going right now. The Beavers are definitely on the come up! They've been right there in their two losses. I'm excited to see how they play out the rest of their season."
As the season continues on for the Beavs, Moran does have the Colorado game circled on his calendar as he plans on taking his official visit that weekend. Moran will not be coming alone as his teammates, 4* running back Chase Lucas and 5* wide-receiver N'Keal Harry, are coming along to take in Oregon State and Corvallis.
"I'm super excited about getting up there for the Colorado game. I'm doing my best to get Chase and N'Keal to get up there too. They're coming up with me on my visit." Mason continued, "I know that the coaches will show them everything they have and we'll have ourselves a good time."
Until then, Moran wants Beaver Nation to know that he is totally committed to the Beavers and in helping build the best recruiting class possible.
