Mannion Crichton earn POW honors

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--Quarterback Sean Mannion and defensive end Scott Crichton of OREGON STATE and place kicker John Bonano of ARIZONA have been named Bank of the West Pac-12 Players of the Week in football.
Mannion, a freshman from Pleasanton, Calif., passed for 376 yards and four touchdowns, both career highs, in the 44-21 win over Washington State. His four touchdown performance was the most for a Beaver quarterback since 2009. For the game he completed 26 of 34 attempts (76.5%) with one interception. He is on pace to throw for 3,367 yards this season, which would be an Oregon State record for a freshman and the third-highest single-season total in school history.

Crichton, a freshman from Tacoma, Wash., tied for a team-high with seven tackles, including two tackles for loss and one sack. He also had a pass breakup and forced two fumbles. Crichton has tied the OSU record for forced fumbles in a season with four. He is in a tie for 17th in the NCAA and co-leads the Pac-12 with 10 tackles for loss this season.
Bonano, a senior from Salinas, Calif., scored 12 points on six extra point kicks and two field goals in Arizona's 48-12 win over UCLA. Bonano, a kickoff specialist his entire career at Arizona, was named the starting place kicker before the game and was perfect on PATs and field goal tries. His 41-yard field goal in the third quarters was the first of his career and the longest made kick for the Wildcats this season. Bonano also booted 10 kickoffs in the game, including three touchbacks. He leads the Pac-12 with 19 touchbacks this season.
