A lot of college coaches sell recruits on early playing time but a lot of them can't back it up.
The Oregon State Beavers can back it up though. They play a number of true freshman over older, more experienced players.
The Beavs started a true freshman in their first game of the season in wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins, who caught a 17 yard touchdown pass to lift the Beavers over Portland State on Saturday.
Hodgins' younger brother, Isaac Hodgins, could make an early impact at Oregon State as well. The 6-foot-1, 285-pound defensive tackle is called a "war daddy."
Isaac Hodgins committed to play football for OSU in 2018. He visited Oregon State this past weekend with his family and watched his older brother catch the game winning score.
"I saw the play wide open, and I knew [Jake Luton] was about to throw it to him," the younger Hodgins said. "It was cool to be there for his first touchdown and witness it in person. He was happy, but he knows that there's a lot of work for them to do, but it was a good feeling for him though. I know that."
