Etiwanda (Calif.) small forward Kessler Edwards took an official visit last weekend when the Beavers' football team hosted Washington. The 6-foot-6, 180-pounder recapped his trip with BeaversEdge.com.

"It was cool. I really enjoyed it," Edwards said. "One of the first things I did was meet with one of the academic coordinators. I watched the team practice, and I played with the team in open gym. I saw the weight room and the football game. I met with the coaches and talked about academics with some of their people."

On official visits, basketball recruits are allowed to participate in an "open gym" with the college players as long as the coaches are not involved. It's a pretty common thing on basketball official visits.

Edwards enjoyed hooping it with some of OSU's players.

"It was really competitive - very high level," Edwards said. "Some of the players that really impressed me were the Thompson brothers. They were really nice; I liked the way they play. Tres Tinkle was nice, and they had a couple of big men too - Big G (Gligorije Rakocevic)."
