Walnut Creek (Calif.) Berean Christian defensive tackle Isaac Hodgins committed to Oregon State the day of their spring game earlier this year, March 18th. He committed to the Beavers just couple of weeks after received the OSU offer.
It's well documented by now that Hodgins is the brother of Oregon State freshman wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins. Hodgins' father, James Hodgins, played under OSU tight ends coach Dave Baldwin at San Jose State before a career in the NFL that included winning a Super Bowl.
The youngest Hodgins is enjoying the committed life.
"It's better than not being committed, honestly," Hodgins said. "I know where I'm going, and I know what I have to do to get in there and play early because I talk to the coaches and know how they feel about me. It's been a good time trying to get other kids to commit and build the dam up. That's what I'm trying to do right now."
With Hodgins being so solid with his OSU pledge, he is trying to help build the Beavers' 2018 recruiting class.
