Hernandez commits to Beavs

Oregon State added a commitment from Tucson (Ariz) Pima Community College two-way standout Timmy Hernandez on Thursday afternoon. The 6-foot-1, 190 pound athlete picked up an offer earlier in the day Thursday and didn't waste anytime pulling the trigger.
Originally recruited as a cornerback, with the recent departure of wide receiver Datrin Guyton, Hernandez will get his first look on offense when he arrives in Corvallis in January. As a full qualifier out of Phoenix (Ariz.) Mountain Pointe, Hernandez is eligible to transfer to Oregon State in time for winter term and will count against the 2015 recruiting class numbers.

Hernandez played on both sides of the ball for the Aztecs and made history this season after being selected All-ACCAC on both offense and defense. Defensively he tallied 45 tackles, 2 interceptions and 1 touchdown. On offense he had 53 receptions for 849 yards and 6 touchdowns.
The current freshman will have four years to play three at Oregon State and plans to major in Engineering. He was a high school teammate of current Oregon State freshman Paul Lucas.
