Giant Killer Stone Award--ASU

Defensive end, Victor Butler ran away with this week's Giant Killer

Stone Award, tallying a record number of points for the year. Butler was on
fire against the Sun Devils, recording 2.5 sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss. He
also capped the game with an interception on ASU's two-point conversion attempt,
sealing the Beavers victory.
Butler's partner on the opposite side of the line, Slade Norris also
had a big night for the Beavers as the duo teamed up for four of the five sacks
on ASU quarterback Rudy Carpenter.
Linebacker MVP, Keaton Kristick made big plays all night, recording
a team high nine tackles and one sack. Kristick played with emotion and helped
keep the defense fired up during the hard fought battle at Reser Stadium.
The secondary MVP is a familiar name this year on the Giant Killer Stone Award
list. Greg Laybourn once again had a good game, with perhaps his biggest
play of the night coming again on the ASU two-point conversion attempt in the
final seconds of the game. While Carpenter ran out of the pocket,
Laybourn was there to greet him, forcing him to throw the interception
to a waiting Butler in the end zone. Laybourn showed once again why he is a
tenacious run stopper.
