Defensive Points: Cal

The Beavers are sorely missing size in the middle as the defensive front continues to take a beating from the bigger, more physical offensive lines in the conference. Cal was able to run at will against Oregon State, but the Beavers still held Cal well below their season average 29 points per game.
Oregon State was led by the secondary this week as cornerback Rashaad Reynolds earned his first outright Giant Killer Stone of his career. Fellow defensive backs Lance Mitchell, Anthony Watkins and Jordan Poyer also ranked among the top point earners against the Golden Bears.

The linebackers struggled to contain the Cal running attack. Michael Doctor led the unit with six assisted tackles.
Scott Crichton led the defensive front with 9.50 points this week. Andrew Seumalo was close behind with 7.25 points which included two tackles for loss and one sack.
