Defensive Points: BYU

Two steps forward. Three steps back. That seems to sum up the Oregon State football team's performance after a big win against Arizona started to swing momentum their direction, they stumbled and fell flat against BYU.
Injuries took their toll for the Beavers who lost both middle linebackers early and Castro Masaniai, the run clogging tackle which enabled BYU to run right over the Beavers defense.

There were some bright spots for the Beavers as cornerback Jordan Poyer had a pick 6 in helping to get the Beavs back in the game before halftime and was joined by team leading tackler, Rashaad Reynolds in MVP honors.
The Beavers line was led by defensive end Scott Crichton once again, who earned his fourth consecutive MVP award for his five tackle, fumble recovery and blocked kick game.
Michael Doctor once again led the linebacking unit for the second week in a row. Doctor was the veteran for the group and tacked on 13 tackles.
